ABOUT ELISHEVA
She Coaches From Proximity
Elisheva Johnson doesn’t coach from a distance. She coaches from proximity — because she has lived it, organized it, fought for it, and rebuilt from it.
A community organizer, Elisheva is the founder of Emergent Justice, a nonprofit rooted in criminal justice reform, dismantling the school-to prison pipeline, and community empowerment. She has spent her career in the spaces that traditional institutions often abandon — sitting across the table from people who’ve been told their past disqualifies their future and proving otherwise.

Since 2009, Elisheva has been a Certified Peer Support Specialist, a credential that isn’t just a title — it’s a methodology. Peer support centers human dignity, shared experience, and the radical belief that the person in front of you already holds wisdom worth honoring. That’s the foundation every coaching session is built on.

Her approach is trauma-informed, community-centered, and culturally responsive. She works with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds — people navigating the intersections of identity, culture, and systemic barriers in America — and she brings that understanding into every session. She knows that the pressures shaped by culture, immigration experience, and systems that were never designed with you in mind are real, specific, and not always easy to name. She helps clients name them anyway.
She doesn’t offer scripts or one-size-fits-all solutions. She offers presence, accountability, and a process that helps clients name what they want, unlearn what’s been in the way, and move toward it — step by step.

Elisheva specializes in coaching justice-impacted individuals, women navigating major life transitions, nonprofit leaders, activists who are burning out but not done, and people working through the cultural and cross-cultural challenges that come with building a life in the United States. All are welcome here. If you’ve ever felt like the coaching world wasn’t built with someone like you in mind — you’re right. This space was built differently, on purpose, for you.
